Air traffic control training, built for real teams.
A shared multiplayer ATC simulator that runs entirely in your browser. Students staff real controller positions — Ground, Tower, Approach, Center — together, live, on the same radar scope, handing traffic off to each other exactly like a real ops room.

What is ATC Trainer?
Students are always controllers, never pilots — every aircraft on the scope is simulated traffic. A session is built around a shared airspace, not a single airport's approach pattern: whoever hosts a session gets a join code, and anyone with it can join and pick an open control position. Any position nobody's staffing gets automated, so a solo student can still run a full session end to end.
World Editor
Build your own airports, waypoints, routes, and full scenarios — or start from a curated, ready-to-fly library.
Live radar scope
A real-time Meridian-themed radar display with live traffic, sector geometry, runway centerlines, and a route-on-select flight-plan panel.
Real voice comms
Speech-to-text command parsing, synthesized pilot readbacks, and a full push-to-talk comms panel — direct lines, phone lines, and aircraft frequency, modeled on how a real radio panel works.
Scoring & replay
Every session is recorded and scored against a configurable rule set, with a full replay view and a report broken down by category.
Multiplayer sessions
Share a join code, staff positions together, and hand traffic off to each other exactly like a real ops room — not one session per student.
Works on tablets
Touch-friendly controls, pinch-to-zoom on the radar, and a layout that adapts down to iPad-sized screens.
Organizations & roles
Invite instructors and students into your own organization, with role-based permissions for who can author content, assign training, and manage members.
Curricula
Bundle assignments into an ordered training program — students work through the steps in sequence, on their own schedule.
Assignments
A set of scenarios — optionally scored against a custom rule set — assigned to your organization. Students can host and re-attempt them any time.
Instructor scoring reports
Every attempt is scored and broken down by category — handoffs, sequencing, separation, and more — with a downloadable report per assignment.
Progress tracking
Each student's Assignments dashboard shows their best score and attempt count per assignment, with a link straight to the full session replay.
Shared content library
Build an airport or scenario once and publish it into your organization's own library for every member to reuse.

Frequently asked questions
Is this free to use?
Yes — the Free tier lets you build and fly your own scenarios at no cost. Paid tiers raise the limits and unlock extras like a rotating or real-weather ATIS.
Do I need Microsoft Flight Simulator?
No. Everything runs directly in your browser today — traffic, radar, and voice comms included. A deeper Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 integration is planned for later, as an optional extra, not a requirement.
What skill level is this for?
ATC Trainer was originally built to help candidates prepare for EuroControl's ATC Selection round 6 (the ACT test), so it works well as a beginner's first introduction to controller thinking. It's just as usable for a group of students who already know the basics and want realistic multiplayer practice.
Can I build my own airports and scenarios?
Yes. The World Editor covers airports, waypoints, routes, regions, and full scenarios — build from scratch or clone something from the built-in and curated library first.
Do I need to fly, or is this controller-only?
Controller-only. Every aircraft on the scope is simulated traffic — you're always working a control position, never flying.
